A message from Mr. Kevin E. Lawrence,  Principal

Dear Trojans,

Hopefully, this message finds you and your family in the best of health and in great spirits during these difficult times. As you are all now aware, the Coronavirus has adversely impacted not just our school, but all schools across our great nation. We are now under strict guidelines from the district and the state of Florida. Naturally, these current policies prevent us from conducting traditional school, but this still does not prevent teaching from taking place; nor does it stop your children from learning.

Beginning Monday, April 6th, M-DCPS will launch ICP 2.0 for all students here in the district (K-12). Recently, our teachers just spent two days immersing themselves in innovative, challenging and thought-provoking professional development courses – These courses were specifically designed to enhance the distance learning experience for all students. In addition, providing teachers with the necessary tools needed in order to provide students with optimal learning opportunities.

Ultimately, our goal is to continue to deliver quality instruction to your children; while at the same time, assisting them in achieving the best learning outcomes possible (considering our current circumstances).

Lastly, our primary goal here at Horace Mann Middle School, is to provide the safest and most conducive learning environment possible (be it at school or at home). We are all committed to making sure that your children will continue to receive a quality education. Please rest assured that we are here for you. Please be safe and stay healthy. My pledge to you: Teaching and learning will not stop at HMMS… Our commitment to excellence will extend beyond the classroom and into your homes. Please feel free to email me (klawre@dadeschools.net) if I can be of further assistance to you. Thanking you for your continued support and wishing you the very best during this very difficult time.   #HMMS #TROJANS #WeWillRise  #FightOn
